Oh want a beautiful evening! 8'14

There's one good thing to say about all of this rain we've had this year.
8/23/14 sunset seen from our house
It certainly brought some gorgeous sunsets along with it.

Just look at the ones we've seen this week .

Finally, we get some sunshine! 8 '14

Actually caught a few rays today in between the showers
It was hotter than Hades, but  we managed to get  in 9 holes
before the thunderheads moved in on us.

One Hundred Foot Journey 8 "14

We loved this movie,.  It's the best 'Foodie' flick since
 "Julie and Julia".
But those of you love gourmet cooking and eating as much as we do, we want to give you a warning: if you haven't already seen it, do not go to see "The One Hundred Foot Journey"
... UNLESS ...
you have eaten a full meal before entering the theater!
We could almost smell the spices and seasonings.  It left us starving for Indian food.

High Tide Date Nite 8 '14

It's Date Night,  so we headed off to Murrell's Inlet for a good seafood meal
 of local shrimp and grits.

Shrimp n Grits
Followed by a single file stroll down the Marsh walk

Marsh walk after super high tide
The full moon had brought up a super tide which had  the walkway  under water when we arrive. The tide had receded while we were eating  so we didn't have to swim.
Goat Island
But the poor  goats on Goat Island were looking a bit nervous.   I've never seen the island's landmass cut in half by the tide like it was this evening.  It left eight goats and several peacocks stranded on a small pocket of dry land.
Wicked Tuna
Most of the Friday night  party people moved to the higher and drier docks of the Wicked Tuna, which left the Marsh Walk open for Bruce and I to enjoy the scenery

Visiting with the neighbors: Trapped Racoon 8 ' 14

This rascal is about the size of a large squirrel
This little guy was out exploring the marsh  in the middle of the day.  The tide came in, trapping him between the golfers and the marsh. The only dry  place he could find was this ledge on the side of dike along the 17th fairway.  He remained trapped there all morning until the tide receded.  Maybe next time he'll listen when Mom says not to wander off too far from the nest.
