Garlic Sage Rustic Loaf: 8 ' 20
My latest loaf of rustic bread is garlic sage flavored.
The smell of it baking was so mouthwatering we couldn't wait for it to cool and tore off some big hunks to slather with butter while it was still hot. Paired with homemade cream of aspargus soup it made a delicious lunch.

Thanksgiving's over:11'17
With Thanksgiving feast behind us, we didn't waste any time packing away all the Fall decorations and begin trimming the tree for Christmas.. Then CC really got carried away, and continued decorating every other room in the house.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

Paying respect 3 '15
It a beautiful Spring day in Southern California. The hills are green from last weeks rain, and the wildflowers are in bloom
We spent a nostalgic morning paying a respectful visit to loved ones.
And then checking on their former homesteads.
We are pleased to report that all seems to be in good shape.
Mom, Dad And Grandma would be happy to see their homes looking so good.

Home for the Holidays. 12/1/14
![]() |
Front Entry
Bruce and I will be staying home for the holidays. We have decided to enjoy the season and to make our home as festive as possible. We always celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah , but we try to keep them separate so as not to forget the underlying meaning of the holiday. This year we decided to decorate the house for the first two weeks of December with a Christmas theme colored red silver and gold .
As usual, CC put up Xmas trees in every room in the house
and hung garlands and wreaths everywhere.
She decorated every window with snowmen and snow flakes.
And even had snow flakes over and on the table .
We're all set to throw the first Christmas party of the year.

Looking North at the newly sprouted annual rye
Surprise! surprise! After anxiously days of waiting the Rye grass is starting to germinate. We weren't at all sure it would even germinate. . Ideally we would have aerated the soil before putting down the seed, but we got started so late in the season, that we had little time to prep the area. All we had time to do was to rake up the leaves and put down a thin coat of mulch to provide the seed with some nutrients and protection from drying out... And, oh yes.. the HOA forgot to mention that they were turning off all water to the gardens for the winter months (starting the day we set the seed out). so we also had to water it by hand twice a day. Now we just have to wait to see if it will set in well enough to survive until spring.

Time to head for the barn 6 '13
By the time we returned to the campsite the
weather had turned really ugly, and forecasts called for several more
days of the severe thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes. We
decided it was time to pull up stakes and head home (which is only a 2
hours drive)

And a Merry Christmas to All 12 '12
We received our first gift of the season from out neighbors Joe and Julie. I thought this Poinsettia far too lovely to hide indoors, so I placed it beside out front door where the entire neighborhood can enjoy it's beauty.

CAG Miniature Holiday Art Sale '12
This year CAG put up two Christmas trees in the gallery. One tree was for CAG members who had been jurried into exhibiting status, and the other was for exhibiting members who are in the CAG gallery
Exhibitors are allowed to hang small affordable miniature artwork on their respective tree. You may remember that last year I put two serious holiday still lifes on the tree, and a playful Surfing Santa. The still lifes sold almost instantly, but the Santa did not find a home. Honestly I was kinda glad that he didn't, as I really would have liked to have him in my own home.
This year caught me short on paintings and Bruce talked me into putting Santa back on the CAG Tree.
Wouldn't you know it. He sold within two days. Now I may have to repaint one for myself.

More new paintings at Island Art Gallery '11
I took some of my pastel paintings of low country clouds over to Island Art

Their white driftwood framed pastels look lovely
against the white walls of the gallery.

Bulldog Mascot. '11
About a year ago I spotted a cute garden statue of the a Bulldog Mascot. I took a photo for reference, but didn't get around to painting a 12" x 12" of him until last month. It just seemed appropriate for the beginning of the football season.
Busy busy busy - new paintings at SAG Gallery 9 '11
September through December is always a
frantic time of year for the artworld. It's been virtually non-stop for me. It
began with a refresh of my space at the Seacoat Artist gallery with some small
acrylics paintings of sky-scapes and beaches. I had started this series a year
ago, but none of them had never been exhibited before in public. It will be
interesting to see how they do.

Now Showing at Charleston Artist Guild Gallery 10 '11
You may remember from an earlier post this summer that I have been accepted into the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery on East Bay Street. October 1st was the installation day.
In a lot of galleries, a new artist is often e relegated to spaces the back of gallery. Imagine my surprise when I found my work was placed on the main corridor and clearly visible from the entrance.
What a wonderful start!.

Little River Light House Aug '11
I had seen photos of a light house along the Little River in South Carolina, so today Bruce and I went looking for it. It turns out to be a replica of a light house that is used by a condo community to store its pool supplies. Functional or not, the clever camouflage has become something of a local landmark to boaters on the Little River, SC.

Island Artist Gallery Reception 5_21_11
CC by her art ( on my right)
Island Artist Gallery held a reception for all its
artist on Saturday evening.
We had a great
turnout of both guests and artists.
Great turnout!
The camaraderie between artists was great.
It was fun to talk about our art and explain how we
work and what inspires us.
Its also a
great place to learn the latest buzz.
Have you heard.....
And of course we had to check out the
competition.
I wonder how the artist did that...
Where are all
the guys you ask
Most were hanging out by
the food and beverage tables, of course.
BJ accompanied me to the reception
