Congrats, from an awesome neighbor: 2 '20

Congrats!
We got some really good news yesterday  which I shared
with our neighbor across the street
When we got up this morning we  found these tied to our street lamp .
We are so fortunate to  have such a thoughtful neighbor.

Lee's Cats: 2 '20

For Christmas ,Bruce and I had made our neighbor
a wood art representation of her three cats.
Unbeknownst to us,  she has a 4th kitty,
who is so shy that it stays hidden whenever we are around.

Once we discovered that we had missed  one of her fur babies,
we set to work correcting the family portrait in time for Valentine's Day.
Meet Miss "Lucky" on the far left.
We still haven't seen anything but a photo of her,
but Lee assures me we nailed the likeness.

Pawleys Island Beach Walk: 2 '20

We took a walk on the North end of Pawleys Island today.

It was really beautiful, but also really  cold

So  cold that there wasn't anyone but  us and the birds on the beach.

Still it was nice to get out of the house for awhile.

It's starting to look a lot like Valentines Day: 2 '20

Our Valentines Day decorating  didn't stop at the front door.

Virtually every door in the house

has some form of  V-Day decoration on it.

 as do the

windows

  mirrors

and anything  else that has space for it.

Of course the dining room table is decorated,

 As is every other table

and flat surface in the house

My personal favorite however  is the Carolina Room.

Shaded  by large trees on all sides  and outfitted with only a small low voltage light in the ceiling fan, the room can seem quite dark even in the day light hours.
To improve visibility we've draped a string of white mini-lights
above the windows which we leave in place all year round..

For V-Day, we've drilled a small hole into small plastic hearts, then popped a heart over  the last light on every other string.  The effect of the bright mini lights and red hearts is amazingly cheerful.  This has quickly became out favorite room, especially at night.
I am pretty sure I am going to miss these once
Valentine's Day is over.

Getting the yard ready for Valentine's Day: 2 ' 20

Bruce and I are really tired of cold weather,
so we're overjoyed that February is here.
It is time to put away the snow flakes ornaments
and replace them with the Valentine's Day  decorations.

We were working steadily all throughout January to create
some wooden yard art Valentines Day ornaments.

Most of it took the form of
hearts
with messages that
we put in the flowerbeds

and in potted plants.

Closer to the house, we  added  more detail.

Like an elaborate red and white flowered wreath on the door,

lighted hearts on the front porch,
and a V-Day flag in the window.

Every time we look we drive up to the house, or look out a window,
we are greeted with bright colors
and symbols of love and joy.
We are so glad that Valentine's Day is finally here!
