The storm has passed. It didn't do any damage to our home directly.

That
being said, Pawleys Plantation is facing a major cleanup project
There are trees and branches down all over the plantation. Trying to
get in and out is like running an obstacle course of broken limbs and
ice laden tree branches bending down to windshield height under their
loads.

large number of large branches came down off of the pine tree behind our neighbors home

There is a lot of downed the oak and cypress behind our home.

Oaks down behind our home |
In addition there are
still a some large broken trees in the woods behind us that have
propped themselves against other trees. None are posing and direct
threat, but they'll have to be removed or their weight may topple the
trees they are leaning against..

Crews were out this morning from K A Diehl assessing the damage,
but everything is still a bit too ice laden to risk using chain saws. The most anyone can do right now is move the branches out of the road or walkways so no one gets hurt trying to pass through it. That's pretty much what everyone is doing as you can see from the two photos below

These fallen branches were blocking the plantations roadways yesterday, by noon today they had been pushed off of the road.

The weather forecast is for a warming trend. Hopefully the ice will be
melted by tomorrow and we can get on with the clean up.
